Our Artist of the Month is KAFVKA! KAFVKA is a crossover band from Berlin that has been campaigning for social justice and political activism for many years. The band’s name is a fusion of the names of the writer Franz Kafka<\/a> and the former MTV<\/a> presenter Markus Kavka. <\/a>The band \u2013 who produce a mixture of rap and rock \u2013 was founded back in 2013. But the 5 guys of the current lineup have been playing together since 2020. Jonas Kakoschke, who sees himself as a rapper, is the singer and spokesman for the political band. He, Philipp Lenk, Sascha Hornung, Stephan Ifkovits and Alessio Pasqualicchio, raised their hands and stood up to the challenge and have long since become a fixture in the world of German-speaking bands.<\/p>\n

KAFVKA has a loyal audience that would generously forgive even the wildest genre mishmash. Their sound still mirrors a nostalgic 90s crossover: simmering guitar riffs in the verses, which break out with a nice regularity in the choruses. KAVFKAS voice is always one of empathy \u2013 even in the heat of the battle cry \u2013 and is based on the principle of “hard shell, soft inside”. Their debut album “H\u00e4nde hoch!” was released in April 2016. In April 2018, Kafvka released their second studio album, entitled “2084”.<\/p>\n

The underground hit, “Alle hassen Nazis”, which is on the album “2084”, reached a total of almost 10 million streams and no activist demo would be complete without it.<\/p>\n

The aim of KAVFKA is to spread the message of a better world through music and to inspire people to think and act. The band\u2019s fourth album, called “Kaputt”, is due to be released on 28.06.24. “Kaputt” is not only the bleakest, darkest album in the KAFVKA discography so far, it is also, according to a statement from the band, the most personal.<\/p>\n
