Although our Artist of the Month for February now lives in Berlin, our artist Sorvina was born in New York. Growing up in a (relatively) quiet suburb of New York, Sorvina initially found her voice in the world of folk singer-songwriters, where her acoustic melodies and tragic-comic lyrics painted vivid pictures of her inner world. But as her personal and artistic journey progressed, Sorvina soon became brave enough to admit to one of her deepest and most hidden dreams: to become an unironic rapper!<\/p>\n

From tragic-comic lyrics to less ironic rapper<\/h3>\n

Today, Sorvina is firmly rooted in the vibrant hip-hop landscape and has embraced her natural affinity for rhythm and rhyme, blending her roots as a storyteller with the infectious beats and lyrical complexity of her new genre. Each song is a chapter in her ongoing narrative, offering listeners an intimate look into her life – from the challenges and joys of her identity, to the constant movement that defines her existence. Her unique blend of rap, hip-hop, poetry and folk sets her apart<\/p>\n

Moreover, with her gentle voice and passion for different genres of music, she invites her audience to immerse themselves in the joy and energy of her performances. Known for her unwavering optimism, Sorvina creates an atmosphere of camaraderie and connects people through her authentic love of creativity.<\/p>\n

Oh, the places you’ll go.<\/h3>\n

In 2022, Sorvina released her first single, called “Do you know what lonely feels like?”. But it wasn’t until 2024 that she teased her debut album “Oh, The Places you’ll go”, which was released on January 2, 2025, with four singles. Sorvina has over 18,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, which underlines her growing popularity in the music scene.<\/p>\n
