Our Artist of the Month for June is a legend: Audio88, real name Florian Kerntopf, is a fixture in German hip hop. Born on 13 January 1983 in Leverkusen<\/a>, he spent most of his youth in Cottbus before moving to Berlin. There he developed his unique style, which is characterised by sarcastic lyrics and unconventional rhyming schemes. He became known for guest contributions with artists<\/a> such as Morlockk Dilemma<\/a>, Hiob<\/a> and Retrogott<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Musical development and discography<\/h3>\n

Audio88\u2019s musical career began with the album \u201cBild und Ton\u201d<\/em> in 2005. Further solo albums followed<\/a>, such as \u201cWer schweigt, gibt recht\u201d<\/em> (2007), \u201cDie Erde ist eine Scheide\u201d<\/em> (2011) and \u201cDer letzte Idiot\u201d<\/em> (2014). His album \u201cSternzeichen Hass\u201d<\/em> (2017) reached number 25 on the German charts<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In 2007, under the pseudonym EINERVONUNS, he released the album \u201cDie Ruhe traut sich nur vor dem Sturm nach drau\u00dfen<\/a>\u201d and the \u201cPropaganda EP<\/a>\u201d.<\/p>\n

In 2022, he released the album \u201cSchwerer Verlauf\u201d<\/em>, which reached 12th place on the German charts. A year later \u201cSchwererer Verlauf\u201d<\/em> followed, which made it to 6th place.<\/p>\n

Collaboration with Yassin<\/h3>\n

Together with Yassin,<\/a> Audio88 forms the duo Audio88 & Yassin<\/a>. Their first joint album \u201cZwei Herrengedeck, bitte\u201d<\/em> was released in 2009. They achieved their breakthrough with \u201cNormaler Samt\u201d<\/em> (2015), which \u00a0reached 22nd place on the German album charts. Other successful albums followed, like \u201cHalleluja\u201d<\/em> (2016) and \u201cTodesliste\u201d<\/em> (2021).<\/p>\n

Current album and tour<\/h3>\n

In 2025 Audio88 released the solo album \u201cB\u00f6se W\u00f6rter\u201d<\/em><\/a>. Together with Yassin, he announced a tour that will take place in November and December 2025 throughout Germany and Austria<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Over the years, Audio88 has established himself as a critical observer of society. He has made a long-term impression on the German hip hop scene with his unique style and his collaboration with Yassin. His current album and upcoming tour show that he continues to create relevant and provocative music.<\/p>\n
