Dreadsquad – Poland’s staple Reggae Dancehall export: The Dreadsquad project has put Poland on the map for creating dancefloor friendly riddim and bassline madness. From the Superfly Studio in Lodz comes tune after tune combining Jamaican sounds of of Reggae, Dub, Dancehall, Ska and Rocksteady with the modern sounds of Breakbeat, Jungle, Dubstep and Garage.

Dreadsquad was launched during 2001 and what followed was a flurry of mashups, remixes and Polish Sound Clash victories which gave confidence to turn a passion into a way of life for the man at the controls, Marek Bogdanski. Hundreds of gigs in Poland turned into European tours and now Dreadsquad has toured as far as the USA, Canada, Brazil & India. Always in demand, Dreadsquad has worked with plenty of top Jamaican and European artists including Ward 21, Tenor Fly, Top Cat, General Levy, U Brown, Milion Stylez, Lady Chann, Tipa Irie, Jah Mason, Perfect Giddimani, Dr Ring Ding…the list goes on.

So far Dreadsquad has released 4 mixtapes, 4 full-length producer albums and a host of vinyl and digital singles which made it into the top of the best DJ shops in Europe and into the playlists of the premier DJs of the world. The Dreadsquad sound is a worldwide sound taking influence and inspiration from all walks of life. It is glued together by Jamaican Soundsystem culture and modern Bass music culture and is a force to be reckoned with.

DR. RING DING has been a remarkably prolific and versatile singer/instrumentalist on the world circuit since 1987, and can certainly be regarded as one of the driving forces behind Reggae in Germany. An “entertainer” in the truest sense of the word, he is stylistically at home within the entire spectrum of Jamaican music. He sings in English, Patois, German and French. Tireless touring throughout Europe, North America and Asia has made him a fixed and indispensable component of the international Reggae, Dancehall and Ska scenes. Numerous albums and a plethora of singles, as well as guest appearances with other bands of the most diverse genres, have solidified his reputation as a versed performer and musician.

His shows, either backed by renowned bands such as the Sharp Axe Band from Germany and the Ranking Soldiers from Barcelona, or traditionally alongside sound systems, are a fountain of good vibes. Dr. Ring Ding never fails to entertain the crowds, varied as they may be. Once on stage, you cannot stop him nor top him… . On his latest album “Nice Again”, Dr. Ring Ding delivers an overwhelming variety of different Reggae and Dancehall styles. 19 tracks in different languages, swinging with funky-reggae-club sounds in “Sneakers”, showing off a rough edge in the rocking “Ruff Like A Rock”, taking the listener to the lighter side of life with groovy Reggae tunes such as “Good Times” and his undisputed Dancehall smash hit “Doctor’s Darling”, speaking his mind on world politics in “Bombs Over Baghdad”, stating a humorous yet conscious credo in the German “Vom Vatter”, offering a multilingual treat with the pumping “Lala” and bringing back the heyday of Jamaican Rub-A-Dub style in his programmatic “Dancehall Nice Again” and “Call Di Doctor”.

Whether it be true blue old school grooves, current computerized beats or even pop songs, the German veteran of Jamaican music shows off his talent both on his recordings and live on stage. Dr. Ring Ding lives music, particularly the music of Jamaica! As one of the first performers in Germany who bridge the Ska and Reggae scenes, he has opened many ears and hearts for the “Good Vibes” of his favorite sounds.
