Young, wild and groundbreaking – VANÉS

Our Artist of the Month for June is VANÉS. VANÈS is a Berlin-based singer/songwriter, music producer and live performer. Her music is breaking new ground in the world of alt-pop, combining the underground and the mainstream with her characteristic dark bass, vulnerable lyrics and angelic voice.

Growing up with the music of Billie Eilish, BANKS, Ariana Grande and Lana Del Rey, she has developed her own, unique sound and built a strong community through her authentic online presence and appearances in front of large audiences in support of Lolo Zouaï.
VANÈS’ specialty is her blatantly honest storytelling and its tonal implementation in every song in which she explores the deepest and darkest emotions of her real life experiences. This is also reflected in her studio sessions in Berlin, Los Angeles and Cape Town, where she collaborates with well-known producers and songwriters to develop new songs for other artists and her own projects.

2020 until now

Her first single was released on 03.12.2020 and was called “Brain”. This was followed by further singles at irregular intervals, until her first EP in March 2023, called “You can’t hide”.

The singles released by VANÉS in 2024 provide an insight into the second EP, expected in 2024. “God’s Favorite”, “Kiss me slow” and the current single “Cherry Red”.

2024 is so Cherry Red

“Cherry Red” is the fourth song of VANÈS’ LA-recorded pop/R&B EP, which builds on her popular queer anthem and explores the sexual and intimate side of her coming-out journey. The music video, currently being produced by a team of exclusive FLINTA* members, captures the song’s hot-blooded and provocative love story.
