Anna Yuna: Between Light and Shadow

Our Artist of the Month for May is a truly special artist. Some musicians don’t just create songs – they build entire worlds you can lose yourself in, and Anna Yuna is definitely one of them. Her songs resonate with quiet melancholy and gentle rebellion, somewhere between the blurred lights of a Berlin summer night and the heavy, yet hopeful feeling of finally letting go.

Electronic Indie-Pop, with room to feel

This best describes Anna Yuna’s sound. Her clear, pure vocal tone carries every emotion effortlessly through minimalist arrangements – sometimes honestly loud, sometimes almost whisper-quiet. Her music creates space for your own thoughts, memories, and dreams – always remaining genuine and authentic.

Shortly after recording her first demos at the end of 2023, Anna Yuna’s musical journey quickly gained momentum. In early 2024, she was accepted into the prestigious Bandpool program at the Popakademie Mannheim, a renowned talent hub for future stars. This was followed by a demo deal with Warner Germany, under the A&R direction of Norbert Rudnitzky, who supported her artistic development.

During this formative period, Anna Yuna collaborated with an impressive roster of songwriters and producers, including HALLER, Jules Kalmbacher, Marie Bothmer, Dennis Borger, Tillmann Loch, Trille, and Jens Schneider.

Musically inspired by artists like Paula Hartmann, Levin Liam, and maiia, Anna Yuna continues to shape her own distinctive style: electronic, honest, and profound.

In April 2024, she performed as the support act for pop artist HALLER at two tour dates – another important step towards greater visibility. With her debut singles, “panikwach” (June 2024) and “Mondlicht” (September 2024), Anna Yuna made a strong impact: landing placements in major playlists like POPLAND, New Music Friday, and GSA, as well as achieving over 100 radio plays within the first four weeks – including airplay on Deutschlandfunk Nova, PULS, and Bayern 3.

But for Anna Yuna, it’s about more than numbers and success

She wants to tell stories, move people, and create connections – in a world that is often too loud, too fast, and too superficial. Her music offers a space where everything is allowed to coexist: sorrow and hope, loss and new beginnings, light and shadow. With a unique blend of introspective depth and urban lightness, Anna Yuna represents a new generation of artists who celebrate both the subtle tones and the big emotions.

And maybe that is her greatest gift: reminding us that change and letting go do not mark an ending – but the beginning of something beautiful.
