Our Artist of the Month for April is: Charlotte Colace

Charlotte Colace – Soul from Berlin, French-Cuban roots, and a voice that gets to you

Our Artist of the Month for April is the incredible Charlotte Colace. And you don’t really have to look far for her in Berlin – you just have to stand in a club where she’s performing. Because Charlotte has that kind of stage presence where it’s immediately clear: this isn’t just “nice,” it’s real. Warm, powerful, vulnerable – and full of groove at the same time. Her voice is precise and works like an instrument, and yes, she always hits the right notes.

Charlotte is an independent Berlin-based soul/neo-soul artist with French-Cuban roots. And yes: you can hear it. Her music has a vintage soul nostalgia, but without the dust – more like a film look that feels modern. Add to that storytelling that isn’t polished, but honest. That’s exactly what convinced us as a crew: Charlotte is currently building her own cosmos – consistently, with genuine feeling, and without taking shortcuts. Sometimes she sings in English, sometimes in French. Often in a mix.

Origin and roots of our Artist of the Month in April

Charlotte Colace is a powerful, expressive soul singer with roots in two worlds: born in France, raised in Cuba. She discovered her passion for music early on – and when she moved to Berlin in 2018, she quickly found her place in the city’s vibrant soul and jazz scene. All signs point steadily toward growth and success. For example, in 2025 she was honored with the Listen to Berlin Artist Award – at a time when she didn’t even have a large-scale “streaming release catalog” to show for it. That’s a statement.

From live stages to her own spotlight

Charlotte has already shared stages with artists like Omah Lay and Nick Hakim and has also been heard as a voice for Sorvina, Stella & The Longos, and in the BiPoC choir A Song For You.
Today, she brings her music to the stage with a large live band – and turns it into an experience rather than just a “set.” This also means: Charlotte didn’t just “show up yesterday.” She earned her place live – and anyone who has seen her once understands immediately why.

Debut EP “No Way But Through”

In March 2026, her debut EP “No Way But Through” was released.

The title fits: this isn’t a project that elegantly curves around feelings. It goes straight into them. 8 tracks, raw and cinematic – a journey through love, loss, and self-discovery. No “60s soul cosplay,” but an invitation to look deeper: into Charlotte, into the songs, into those spaces in between where you realize that art sometimes says more than a conversation. The project was produced with Tremendous Aron, and the first single “Lose You Over Lies” was released back in January 2026.

Why Charlotte is our Artist of the Month

Because she embodies exactly what we celebrate about independent careers: her own cosmos, a clear vision, and consistency. A quality that doesn’t smell like a trend, but like personality. Her own clear style instead of “anything goes.” And that rare mix of voice + emotion + attitude that sticks with you.

Charlotte doesn’t build her world through volume, but through feeling, presence, and an aesthetic that you recognize. And: the momentum is there – she has over 25,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.

Charlotte is not a background playlist artist. She is “please be quiet for a second, I want to hear this” music. And in 2026, that might be the biggest compliment of all.

Today, Charlotte brings her music to the stage with a seven-piece live band – including trumpet, saxophone, guitar, bass, keys, and drums. The result is an intense, groove-driven live experience that doesn’t just quote soul, but makes it tangible: warm, modern, emotional, and full of energy.
