Our Passenger of the Month in November 2022: Haiyti
Hits for the world's final sunset: Haiyti
Haiyti is back, and again with a completely new sound: Future Horrorcore. On her new single “Lucifer” she celebrates a pact with the devil – and the Beelzebub is of course herself. Over a dark, dirty, dragged-out banger, she sings about an end-time scenario in which driven men, gangsters, geniuses and other lost souls toast with one last bottle of bubbles.
I may have seven lives, but I’ll end this one with dignity.
It is a hit as only Haiyti can write it: fixed and unfinished, gloomy and raw, seemingly spontaneously slapped together, but extremely catchy, with the power of a dark magic. “Lucifer” is the focus track – and at the same time the key track – from Haiyti’s new album “Ich lach mich tot”.
The world is about to experience its final sunset, and Haiyti provides the soundtrack. Against all forces of nature. Against every rule of the rap business. The album was produced by extraordinary musicians like Bazzazzian (Haftbefehl), Chilly Gonzalez, Ed Hardy (Nina Chuba) and Haiyti’s long-time companions AsadJohn and Jush (“Wolken”). They all have mega hits in their catalogue. But alongside Haiyti, they have above all the freedom to make art against every rule of supposed reason.
Even the features on “Ich lach mich tot” are not tactical streaming hacks, but expressions of a genuine attitude: the album’s two guest parts come from underground legends Crackaveli and Blade (the original). Or as Haiyti says: Real players from hell. That’s who “I’m laughing my head off” is made for. And for all those who find themselves in them. See you on the other side.
