TikTok for Artists: New tools for musicians are coming to the platform very soon.
TikTok for Artists: What you should know as a recordJet artist.
TikTok is currently testing a new platform specifically for music creators in selected countries including Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, and Indonesia: TikTok for Artists.
It’s designed for artists and their teams, offering new analytics and promotion tools – similar to what you may already know from Spotify for Artists or Apple Music for Artists.
This soft launch isn’t live in Germany yet – but it will be soon!
To make sure you’re one of the early birds who’s ready to go when it launches, we’ll walk you through what to expect in this article.
What is TikTok for Artists?
TikTok for Artists is a centralized platform where you can:
- Get detailed insights into the performance of your music on TikTok
- See what kind of content resonates most with your fans
- Use new tools to promote your music more effectively on TikTok
- Set up EP or album campaigns, including pre-save campaigns for Spotify and Apple Music
If you already have a team (e.g. management or a label), you can also invite them to access your data with you.
Label teams can use MediaMatch, TikTok’s internal tool for label analytics.
Why is this relevant for you as an artist?
As an artist, you have full control over your music – which also means you’re responsible for your visibility on platforms like TikTok.
TikTok for Artists gives you the tools to:
- Better understand how your music is performing organically
- Identify trend potential before things go viral
- Actively promote your releases – e.g., with pre-save campaigns
- And last but not least, find the right formats and sounds for your target audience
What does this mean for the future?
At the moment, TikTok for Artists is only available in a handful of markets – but TikTok has already announced plans to roll it out globally.
A specific launch date for Germany has not been confirmed yet.
Bottom line:
TikTok for Artists brings new opportunities for DIY artists and indies – especially those who distribute their music independently, for example via recordJet.
These new tools help you work more strategically with data, build stronger fan engagement, and create content more intentionally.
At recordJet, we’re keeping a close eye on the developments – and we’ll keep you posted as soon as TikTok for Artists launches in our region too.
